To those tips I would add that a little bit of alcohol goes along way. You don’t want to be so drunk that you’re no longer able to type coherently, though. Larry Niven spoke fondly of Irish coffee – the whiskey frees your mind, and the coffee keeps you awake. In moderation, the guard rails come down, and you write well about something that might’be seemed like a poor idea at the start. But if its Irish coffee, probably stop at three. Or 3…AM
