    1. 1. I can’t help it.
      2. This is my PhD training at work.
      3. Outré cinema such as this can serve as an antidote to overdosing on mainstream film and television.

      And here you might ask, “Why watch things that will feel toxic?”

      Unfortunately, in my life, I accepted too much stupid entertainment in my life before I knew not to watch.

      Plus other people insist I sometimes absorb stupid entertainment.

      Plus stupid entertainment I don’t watch ends up in the zeitgeist anyway, which means I feel like I watch some stupid entertainment that I
      haven’t even watched.

      The films of John Waters may be crazy, but are not boring. They represent good bad taste. Without bad bad taste, I wouldn’t need good
      bad taste. But America teems with bad bad taste.
