#591: Greg Proops

On today’s show, I speak with comedian Greg Proops about his new comedy album, French Drug Deal, the way time passes when sober and writing scripts and novels, the perfection of Charlotte Rampling, and other keen matters of interest to think-o-philes.

TEXTS DISCUSSED

Greg is on tour with the Whose Line crew. Check out their dates here. December 2nd they will be in Orlando. I’ll be there in the audience.

  1. Marvellous! I think I’ll go and get Mr Proops’ book.

As to James Mason, what about The shooting Party? He’s really good in it, and not as scary as Edward Fox. But fear is a very individual thing, I suppose. As to Charlotte Rampling, there’s Zardoz, I also suppose.

    1. Was Charlotte Rampling in Zardoz? I think I’ve watched Zardoz twice, but might have confused the movie with Sean Connery S&M fever dreams I may or may not have had.

James Mason is good in everything. But scary. I need to take a look at The Shooting Party. 🙂

  2. Maxim Jakubowski, the British SF critic, in The Complete Book of Science Fiction and Fantasy Lists ranks Charlotte Rampling in Zardoz as one of the best nude scenes in SF film.

AS to the late Sir Sean harnessed to a cart…well, I’ll blame your thougts on the COVID, which I hope you get over soon.
